I am beyond thankful to have had the many opportunities I have had to travel. I have been lucky enough to travel to some amazing places. States like Louisiana, Nevada, Massachusetts, New York, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and I’m sure there are a couple I’m forgetting.
I have also been lucky enough to travel outside the United States which include, England, France, Canada, Spain, Morocco, & Puerto Rico.
Paul and I both found out while we are dating that we both love to travel and have been to New York City, Ann Arbor, Boston, Provincetown, & honeymooned in Puerto Rico. We hope to travel more and are planning a trip South this Spring and want to head to the West Coast as well as Europe in our future travels.
Here are a few pics of some of our travels:

I am so thankful to have these two cuties be a part of our wedding!!! Cole is one of my best friend’s sons. He has had my heart from the moment he was born and as he would say, “I love his guts”! Logan is Paul’s nephew who is sweeter than sugar and smart as a whip! (I’m working on similes and metaphors with my 6th and 7th graders, can you tell?)
Both boys did such a fantastic job and looked BEYOND cute in their tuxes and of course their own chucks to match the “big boys” :)
Aunt Lindsay loves you both over the moon and back!!!

They looked so adorable!!

Paul has given me the best gift over the past 2 years…..season tickets to the Broadway series at Playhouse Square. These are our guaranteed date nights and we both love it!! This year’s series includes:
Anything Goes
Beauty & the Beast
Priscilla
Sister Act
War Horse
Guys & Dolls
Book of Mormon
The Lion King (a new add on)
This is the second year Paul has done this for us and I love it!!! This past week was Beauty & the Beast and we had such a great time!!

I wanted to honor my Grandparents in some way on my wedding day. Both are gone. I had a picture of my Oma & Otta on their wedding day. I knew I wanted to carry them with me and I discovered bouquet charms. I found the perfect one and then the hunt for the perfect picture of my Father’s parents began. My dad found the perfect picture of my Grandma and Grandpa when they were dating. Both photographs were from the 1930’s and were so special! I sent the digital images to Memories by Laura on etsy who made my bouquet charm. It was so special knowing that they were there with me not only in spirit, but close to my heart.

One thing Paul and I knew for sure was that we did not want plain table numbers. We wanted to personalize our wedding as much as possible and have our personalities show. We bounced around different ideas which were all great, but we couldn’t make them work for us. We thought of using numbers that mean something to us like “Table 17” and underneath “the day of our first date” or “table 919” - “days since our first date” etc. We could come up with about 10 really great meaningful numbers, and then we were stretching it to “27, types of sauce we’ve tried”…so we kept thinking.
Meanwhile we had already decided that we weren’t going to give favors. Instead we wanted to make donations. We decided to each pick one of our favorite charities, The Cleveland Food Bank for Paul and Books For Kids Foundation for me. Then it hit us….I love books, and Paul loves Sandwiches! We could each pick our favorites of each and those could be our table names! We began to giggle and immediately began our lists. Once we wrote it down, we decided that this was it!!! So each table would either be a book or a sandwich! We loved that it was unique and “us”. Here are our lists:
Books:
*Harry Potter *Little Women *The Hunger Games *Pride and Prejudice *The Time Traveler’s Wife *To Kill a Mockingbird *The Outsiders *Water for Elephants *Fahrenheit 451 *The Help *Life of Pi *The Secret Garden *The Great Gatsby *The Secret Life of Bees
Sandwiches:
*Reuben *Turkey Club *Gyro *Italian Sub *Turkey Bacon Wrap *Grilled Cheese *Peanut Butter & Jelly *Bacon Cheeseburger *BLT *Salami & Cheese on Rye *Philly Cheese Steak *Cuban * Pulled Pork *Po’ Boy
I found an amazing designer, again on etsy, to make our table cards. Designs by Direction did a fantastic job and we LOVED them! Here is a digital image:

When we walked into the hall and I saw everything put together, these gorgeous table cards really pulled everything together. Here are some great shots of them!

Paul has a pretty good selection of Converse shoes, so of course when we began discussing wedding attire, he goes, “Can I just wear Chucks please?” and I immediately responded, “Sure.” Paul’s face was priceless…”I can? Seriously?” He began to research and found out you can custom design Chuck Taylors. He spent time on the site deciding which pattern and you can literally choose the color for every part of the shoe. The best part was the personalization on the back…every groomsman got his name on the shoes!! We even found little converse for our ring bearers.

Being so girly, I opted for fuschia shoes to match my girl’s dresses ;) They turned out great! Paul’s sister was his “Best Woman” and she also opted for some hot fuschia shoes!

I apologize for being on a hiatus but I was busy marrying my Paul! :) We had the BEST day and enjoyed every moment! We tried to make everything personal and really show our personalites ;)
I pride myself on being a bit “crafty” and my wedding programs were not an exception. What started off as what I thought would be a quick and painless process, ended up being a bit more tricky than I first thought.
It started with this amazing stamp I ordered from StampOutOnline on etsy. I wanted to use damask to tie everything together and this stamp was perfect! I ended up stamping two different colored squares that I measured and cut from cardstock (fuschia and white) and here’s how they turned out!

Next, Paul suggested we border them because they were going onto black cardstock for the actual programs.

Here’s the final product!!!

“It does not do to dwell on dreams, Harry, and forget to live.”
-Dumbledore, J.K Rowling

Since I began rereading the Harry Potter series from the beginning on my Nook (now that the e-books are released!!! See my post about it! ) I felt it appropriate for the quote of the week to be from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.

With my bridal showers coming up in a week (!) Paul and I did a bit of spring cleaning. We got rid of some things we deemed were just taking up space and began to de-clutter. In doing so we decided we wanted to change up a couple of things to make our place more homey. With a simple trip to Target, we managed to find a floor lamp we’ve had our eye on and some prints to change up the feel of our living space.
Here’s our new lamp (that I put together FYI…..I like to say “hey, I built that lamp!” and this is where Paul begins to shake his head and roll his eyes at me).

Here are the new prints we got (to replace some photos I had hanging in the same spots):

I ordered my…i mean OUR cake topper for the wedding! Since I’m leaving the Miss S… and going to Mrs. R…. I wanted to find an “R” to adorn our cake. I had a few criteria for my search.
#1…It needed to be an “R”. Just an R, not an R wrapped in a heart or with butterflies around it…just a stand alone letter.
#2…I’m not spending more than $25 for a letter that goes on top of a cake..once. I mean, I doubt if ever again except for random times I may make a cake and stick it on the top. Perhaps I can make a cake for friends who celebrate Rosh Hashanah or Ramadan and use my R? Let’s face it…..basically being used ONCE!
#3…I wanted it to be a fun “R” not a boxy “R”. I’m a bit of a handwriting snob and knew that I wanted it to have a bit of pizazz.
Well, I found it! It came in this week, hit all of my above criteria and is just what I pictured! Where did I find this little gem you ask? ETSY of course!!! Crosswire Designs was the perfect shop for me!! Here is my “R”:

Best part is that even after shipping…it came in around $20. PERFECT!!! I can now check cake topper off my list! :)
